Relaxing

Today, I basically laid about the house playing Final Fantasy XII. It was great. Mom went to work, I played games, then Mom babysat at a friend's house. I kept playing.
Later I made two sammiches and Mom decided to make chicken curry for dinner... Two hours later...
I did actually eat two bowls. There's a reason my friends call me the garbage disposal.

Anyway, I was watching birds in the backyard. Quite entertaining. There was a large insect of some sort that landed on the iceplant in the back embankment. Two birds took notice and one decided to descend for a better look. He started hopping around following it about. It started to fly away so he started flying after it. The other bird joined chase and they began zigzagging after it. Very entertaining. It was far too large for the two sparrows to kill and eat but they sure did try their best.

After that I called Mom#2 and made plans for tomorrow's trip to collect my girl from LAX. I'm so excited for her to get back from England! So is she. I finally got to Skype with her two nights in a row. We talked about our weeks and caught up. I was just losing my mind to finally talk to her. So was she. So now I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

Friday, after she's had a night to rest, our mothers and the two of us are going away to Idlewild for the weekend. I can't wait to be out in the wild for once. I miss camping so much! Since Jackass #1 came in the picture we haven't been able to do things like that we like because he just wasn't into them. Bastard. Anyway, we're doing this for Mom. So she can get away and relax. Just not worry about things for a couple days. Thankfully she's doing much better than a couple weeks ago. Friends, family, running, and the potential for an annulment heal all.

So all, enjoy your weekend. I know we're not quite there yet but I doubt I'll post again till Sunday or later. So have a good one and relax!

Finals, Summer School, and no vacation till now: A blog's worst nightmare.

Yes my friends, I'm back. I know, it's been since April. Ye gads it's been since April!
So, since April I've finished Spring classes, had a week off, had a summer illustration class, and my girlfriend is now in London for ten days for a wedding. She left last Tuesday and comes back this Thursday. I'm losing my mind without her! We've had no contact as she doesn't have a cell phone there so no texty and she has her laptop but because of the seven hour time difference she intermittently has internet at a cafe, but when I happen to be out or asleep. Grr. Anyway, we're trying to figure it out. We may be able to Skype tonight. But at like 12:20 am. Kill me now.

Oh! Bigger crappy news! My stepdad, Mom's newish husband of almost three years, left on a wednesday about two weeks ago. Yes Dingo, now I have a Jackass #1. And I will refer to him as such from now on. Or perhaps inpatient #1. I haven't decided which branch of the psych ward he belongs to yet. But one thing's for sure: he belongs in the psych ward. So, he let us by $800 worth of plane tickets to Ohio to see his kids. He drove there by himself last week. Fucker. Now those non-refundable tickets are being transferred to either New York, New Hampshire, or San Francisco. We haven't decided yet. Dingo! I might come ambush you! Haha.

Anyway, so that divorce is in the books soon. Or, perhaps, and annulment as there are extenuating circumstances that allow for one. It would be a glorious slap in the face for him. Anyway.

Okay, las thing. Cracked.com. Go there. Enjoy it. Dingo, you would love it. It's just your kind of humor. It ranges from relevant to completely irrelevant. Yet it's all completely interesting! Enjoy it. Later folks!

OMG!

So quick update because I just had to spill this news! Tonight I went to a play at my school called "That Beautiful Laugh." It was great.  Really funny and was basically about laughter and it's role in our human lives and was written by the director at our school.  It was a bunch of clown work and the actors did a great job with it.
Anyway, not the point.  Point is I just met this guy:

Alan Tudyk.  Better known as the pilot Hoban 'Wash' Washburne on the show Firefly.  He is also the one character from the series to die in the movie adaptation Serenity.  He is really nice and has a great sense of humor.  Apparently the director of the play we went to see was Orlando Pabotoy who played Orlando Pinatubo on the show Strangers with Candy with Stephen Colbert.  Apparently him and Alan are friends and he invited him to come see the show he directed at our school so he came.  Who was in the audience?  I was!  Who went and took a picture with him?  I did!  He's so cool guys and really nice.  I had a total fanboy moment and freaked with some friends and showed our geek sides.  Haha.  It was great.  I had a great night!  Post more later! 8D Maybe even the picture if I can watermark it.  Yay!

Spring Break '09

Hello all.  So this Spring Break has been kinda slow.  Relaxing, but slow.  I went into it with three drawings and a 3D art project to do and I've started one of the drawings so far.  Go me.  I'm going to dread Monday.  This Friday I'm supposed to go with a friend and my girlfriend to see Knowing.  It's for the friend's class because she gets extra credit to see it.  We are now trying to convince her to see a different movie as it has turned out to be one of the worst movies around apparently and I'm not actually much of a Nic Cage fan ladies and germs.  I will admit that some of his older stuff like City of Angels was amazing.  But lately, he just can't seem to get it right.  The National Treasure films being the exceptions.  Anyway, I'm thinking Watchmen, Adventureland, or I love You, Man as alternatives.  I just wish Sunshine Cleaning was out already.  I love Amy Adams, Emily Blunt, and Alan Arkin.  It makes me laugh too that this movie also has Sunshine in it when it's by the same people who did Little Miss Sunshine.  Coincidence?  Don't bet on it.
Oh and last night we went to dinner with my girlfriend and her parents.  It was very entertaining and we had some really funny moments.  We always have fun, it's great.
Today I'm trying to get out of bed and work out again.  I also wish it was sunnier because I'd lay out and read and get a little tan again.  I have to go shopping later.  Maybe I'll go earlier to avoid the after work crowds.  Yup, sounds good to me.  I think I'll go to the book store too and get a good novel or two.  I need something good to read.  Maybe the next Anne Rice vampire novel I'm missing.  Sounds good to me.

One Word...

Midterms!  Yup, it's that time again ladies and germs.  Time to buckle down, eliminate my social life for the time being, pretend I don't have a break next week, and focus on the projects and tests ahead.
Uggh, I'm gonna die.  Right now I just got home at 1:00 am from my drawing class trying to finish that damn charcoal piece.  It's coming.  One more day and I should be done.  I'm not worried but I am frustrated.  I know I can do it and I'll admit it looks pretty good but it's just taking forever! I'll post a pic soon I promise.  It's due wednesday so hopefully Thursday night I'll have on up.  If not with the regular post this weekend.  This one is a little late because of the work I've been doing.  Even now I should be going to sleep instead of writing but I couldn't neglect you fine peoples again.
Last Thursday I went to see A Midsummer Night's Dream.  It was amazing!  The set was gorgeous!  It was very simple but incredible and ingenious.  They had simple, red, metal tubes that had holes of varying sizes cut into them and hung in various places around the stage from the heavens.  These lit from within and created a fascinating effect of being in a thick and dark wood at night with perhaps fireflies flitting about.  The acting was fairly decent and the costumes were perfect.  I thought the fairies could have been a bit more imaginative but overall the production was awesome!
It ended at 10:15 pm and I went straight to my drawing class a couple buildings over to work more on my charcoal piece.  Crazy!  Me and two other classmates stayed till 4:30 am and still didn't finish.  It was nuts but boy did we have fun.  We played hip-hop and made a Wendy's run for Frosties and eventually got that kind of giggle fit that you can only get from intense sleep deprivation.  Yeah, it was epic!
After I went home and slept for five hours then rose, packed, and proceeded to drive and hour and a half home to my parent's house.  Yeah, I'm young and outta my mind but hey, it's the life of a college student right?  Haha.  Needless to say I'm enjoying it though.  This weekend was kind of a wash but I at least relaxed a bit before diving back into the workload.  I'm definitely looking forward to Spring Break though.  I'll have projects to work on but I'll be much more relaxed about them.  I can't wait.
Oh, and this Thursday I'm performing and hour-long improv of a wedding reception in my acting class if I haven't already mentioned it.  I got cast as the Wedding Planner which is more than I could have hoped for.  I'm so excited but I hope I'm prepared for it.  I still haven't decided what kind of planner I'm going to be.  The amazing nice and gracious kind that meets your wildest expectations, or the ridiculous and funny but crazy one that runs around like a chicken with its head cut off, or the bitchy attitude one that runs the show like a nazi and sucks the fun out of the whole event?  What do you think ladies and germs?  I can do anything I want.  That may be a dangerous thing but we'll see what comes of it.  Haha.
Well have a good week all and see you Thursday or this weekend!

Finally

I'm sitting here in bed at my parents house trying to motivate myself to get up and actually get ready for the day.  I've already been up and started laundry but now I've fallen back in.  I know, I really should but it's just so relaxing. :) Ok, up to start breakfast/lunch.  It's not really brunch so don't get hung up on that.
So this week, as I said before, was a bit crazy.  Thankfully my drawing teacher was gracious and told us to take the weekend off from our projects.  We're doing a still life using value finally.  It's in charcoal and it's coming along great.  I love the way she's teaching us and I'm having a lot of fun.  Tonight I'm going to a movie with my girlfriend and her buddies from school and we're just going to have an overall good time.  Then tomorrow night I'm going up to her house again with our other friends.  It'll be grand fun.  We have no real plans so we'll probably end up being crazy as usual and just watching several movies or playing random board games.  Or musical Catch Phrase which is amazing!
Oh! I almost forgot.  I have the Voyager from Verizon Wireless.  I love the phone and I've had fun with it.  However, lately it's been shutting itself off for no reason.  I'll pick it up to check if I have any texts or something and it'll be off.  Nothing has touched the buttons and I'll turn it on and it has full battery charge.  The battery is securely attached and didn't accidentally release either.  Gahh! Technology sometimes.  So we called the company and they said they'd replace it.  So the other day we received a new phone in the mail. Yay! Today I'll go in and get it all switched over to the new phone.  Thank you Verizon!
One last thing.  Spring! 8D  I'm so excited it's here.  I love the warming feeling as the weather and sun slowly get better.  I love winter too but I'm so ready for the hot summer.  Gotta love So Cal! I'm watching Food Network and getting great Spring recipes and loving the transitions in clothes and lifestyle to warmer weather themes.  I especially can't wait to go swimming at the beach this summer.  I didn't get to go much last summer so this time I hope to practically live on the beach for a while.  I also want to go back to school looking like a mexican I'll be so tan.  Haha.  I actually had someone react that way one year in high school.  They hadn't seen me all summer and when I came back they asked if I had had gene therapy to look hispanic.  A little racist but funny.  :)  So, to get ready for this season I think I'll change the color scheme for my blog.  Lighter, airy tones will fit my overall mood better and just match what's going on lately.
Oh yeah! I hope to be starting a web comic soon.  I think I'll begin posting it over spring break.  I'll probably just attach it to this account and make a new blog for it.  I hope it comes out okay and we'll see if it ends up fairly popular.  It'll just be about my life and the crazy antics my friends and I get into.  We're not partiers by any means so it'll be a reflection of our pretty average low-key lives.  We're crazy but we don't do crazy things to mess up our brains.
Have a good weekend all.  I hope to start doing weekly updates.  Once a weekend.  Here's hoping.

Gah!

Sorry reader, things have been a bit crazy lately. I still am managing all five classes that's including the two studio classes so I have a lot of work. This weekend should mean a full normal post though. Thanks for waiting as I'm sure you've been desperate to hear news from my direction. I'm currently avoiding writing a paper for my acting class until the last minute. Naturally. We're writing about a play we saw as a class and I just have no motivation for it. Add two drawing projects, an exam looming on the horizon, and my girlfriend leaving to New York for a week meaning I get one day less with her than normal (sad I know) means I'm stressed and busy right now. Enjoying every minute but still crazy. So, more details later and for now enjoy an example of my hard work. It's only ok for now. It still needs work. And I need more practice. :)

Apparently I'm full of Greatness

The year of 2009 started off with a bang for me.  I have a new relationship and it's a great positive in my life.  I've started a new semester at CSULB and I'm loving it.  The people around me are happy and so am I.  I know I gave a slight intro to '09 already but I felt this was more necessary.

Tonight was the 2008 Academy Awards Ceremony.  My mother and I are close friends with the owners and main creative forces behind Spectral Motion.  Mike and Mary Elizalde and their family are great and amazingly creative people.  They enjoy their craft and I hope to one day be involved in it.  This year Mike was nominated for the Academy Award for the makeup category for the movie Hellboy II: The Golden Army.  They did not win and lost to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.  I'm not bitter but I think it was wrong.  Mike's work seemed much more complex and huge as he had to create over forty individual creatures for the film.

So this year I watched the whole show of the Awards for a change.  I haven't usually watched it with such fervor but tonight was amazing.  I was so moved by this year's production.  This year it wasn't about the winners, the stars, or the jokes.  This year seemed so much more elegant and raw.  I thought it was the most heartfelt presentation of the acting awards I've ever seen as well.  Not only were the nominees announced but they had individual actors and actresses name them specifically and give them introductions and commendations that were each special and tailored to each nominee.  So even if they didn't win they were recognized as being among the best and still made to feel special in their category.  I thought it was amazingly respectful and appreciative.

I've also mentioned my acting class.  This class made me consider seriously becoming an actor if possible.  Many people are telling me I have the talent and potential to do something with it and I want to now.  After watching tonight I realize I would love to be a part of that world and what it means to be an actor to tell the stories that may not otherwise be heard.  To give people a voice in a way only you can.  I've become so much more passionate about it.  I really want it.  I can't wait to see where I'll end up.

Thank you to those who believe in me.  To those who say I can when inside I don't think I stand a chance.  To those who gave me the opportunity to succeed and improve and learn when I thought I wasn't even in the realm of a possibility.  Thank you world.  I hope to return the favor someday.
